26th Oct We’ve had an extremely enjoyable time here—great food and hospitality and a lovely room. Denise gave us useful advice on places to visit. All that surrounded by beautiful countryside and Roman history—what more could you ask for? We would definitely like to come back. Local knowledge, care, amazing food ,etc, etc. We wish we’d booked for the whole week and done the walk from here!!! The room was excelent, the bed very comfortable and the food can only best be described as totaly yummy! We enjoyed our days on the wall and the forts. This was our first visit to the wall which was a wonderful experience and I am sure, fate willing, that it will not be our last. We look forward to being able to sample your hospitality on future occasssions.Our journey up to loch lomond was very good and we had a good week with the continued good weather. The welcome muffin and tea by the roaring log fire after a wonderful walk in the sunshine was most appreciated—and also the need NOT to go out, but stay in and enjoy delicious food. What a quiet way to start “Queen’s Day”. We escaped Amsterdam on the day Queen Beatrice celebrates her birthday. We loved walking the Hadrian’s Wall Path for 4 days, staying at different places, but ending up in Brookside Villa B&B. With lovely food, great comfort and everything we needed.
