About Brookside Villa B&B

Our aim

We recognise that, here on Hadrian’s Wall at Gilsland, we’re not just providing you with bed and breakfast accommodation for the night – our aim is to make this part of your holiday or visit to Hadrian’s Wall  the best it possible can be.  We work hard to anticipate and exceed your every expectation of service, food and hospitality.   Our B&B guests tell us we’ve thought of everything to make their stay enjoyably unforgettable – but we never stop trying to think of more!  You won’t find swags and drapes, chintzy fabrics, fluffy things, twiddly bits or doilies.  We hope you’ll enjoy the simplicity and style that we try to bring to the B&B.

Around and about

We combine our knowledge of the Hadrian’s Wall area and Trail with a deep and real passion that perhaps comes of being “incomers”, and we’re delighted to share our experience and our growing love and knowledge of this incredibly beautiful, remote and peaceful part of the world.  Being  keen walkers and cyclists, we have extensive personal experience of local walks—on and off the Hadrian’s Wall—and rides for all levels—from the fit and experienced to walks with children.  You will find maps and guidebooks around the place to borrow – and we’re always delighted to spend time with you and offer help and support to enable you to get the maximum from this area’s landscapes, history and sheer beauty.

We have family accommodation and try our best to be flexible about your childrens’ and your needs.  We have high chairs and baby monitors.  If there are particular foods your children like- let me know when you book.   If you want early meal-times for younger children, again, let me know in advance.

We look  forward to welcoming you to our B&B on Hadrian’s Wall - be it for  one night or a week!
