Passionate about serving high quality food I use fresh, locally sourced ingredients for our beautifully cooked breakfasts and walkers’ suppers using local, organic, free-range, and Fair Trade ingredients as far as possible. My local suppliers have well-deserved reputations for excellence.
Breakfast: I cook our award-winning breakfasts using the very best ingredients. Do try the organic-jumbo-oat porridge with cream, whisky and cinnamon; and note that fresh fruits, cereals, local-milk Greek-style yoghurt & good breads are always available. View our many menu options below.
Evening Meals: Try our Trail Walkers’ Supper Buffet consisting of warming bowls of homemade rich, thick soup with artisan sourdough bread, and a local cheese platter & fruit for £12. Add a freshly prepared baby-leaf salad with charcuterie, Solway smoked salmon or locally made hummus for an extra £6. Enjoy in our bright, spacious dining room from 6.00 to 7.30pm. Please book 24 hours in advance if possible.
(For groups of 4+, with notice, we can often offer a more substantial menu of e.g. local lamb, chicken, or game casserole & homemade desserts. Please contact us for details)
To enjoy with your supper, our well stocked 24 hour Honesty Bar has wines from a carefully chosen global selection, along with local and classic English ales. You can also relax with a drink in the comfortable lounge, in your room or on the garden terrace with magnificent views.
However, if you prefer we can reserve a table at our highly regarded local pub – the Samson Inn – a 10-15 minute stroll away.
We usually can accommodate special diets with a little help from you. Advance notice is required of foodstuffs such as gluten free & dairy-free options so that we can order special purchases – this is a tiny village with no shop!
Please advise us if you have coeliac disease or other serious medical issues and we will take precautions in the storage, preparation and presentation of your food.
We do not normally make any additional charges for special dietary needs, but reserve the right to make charges for additional costs incurred.
